The Portuguese international has openly admitted his desire to be reunited with his former manager at the Bernabeu and when pressed on his rumoured interest in the veteran defender, Mourinho was fulsome in his praise for Carvalho.
The self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ is quoted by the Daily Mail, saying: “I always said that Carvalho is one of the best in the world.
“We'll see what happens.”
The former Chelsea manager also seemed unconcerned by the 32-year-old’s advancing years, claiming the former FC Porto star is at his peak.
“He is in the period of his greatest maturity,” he concluded.
